PokerStars.com to take 315 players to World Series
Pokerstars.com, a Costa Rican poker operator, announced it has delegated 315 amateur players for the World Series annual poker tournament to be held in Las-Vegas on Saturday, the onlinecasinonews.com website announced.
The company hopes to bring a new successful winner as it did in 2003 with Chris Moneymaker, who turned a $39 tournament entry into $2.5 million. After this win the number of entrants has increased over the last year and reached a 138 percent growth. This year the Series’ prize-pool is estimated at $20 million – a record-breaking trophy.
“The continued explosion in the popularity of poker has been phenomenal. Just eight years ago there weren’t 300 total players in this tournament, and now that number represents just PokerStars’ entries. With 15 percent of the total tournament players, PokerStars is a real contender to produce back-to-back World Champions,” said Lee Jones, Poker Room Manager for PokerStars.
The Golden Tiger Poker has refurbished its website, making it a truly informative and comprehensive online poker site.
Visitors will find new graphics and an easy navigation system. The front page shows the number of players in Golden Tiger Poker room at any given time, giving an idea of the amount of action at the tables.
Visitors will also find a drop down notice with information on the latest tournaments, designed to ensure that visitors don’t miss out on any opportunities or special offers.
The Golden Tiger Poker room is committed to sending more players to land based tournaments than any other poker room and are therefore constantly running Satellite tournaments to prestigious events such as The World Series of Poker and The World Poker Tour.
The website also offers some of the lowest table limits online so new players can practice and get a feel for the online game before really risking their money.
